Sensor network for remote crack monitoring installed
Henesis has just installed a new sensor network in a church located in Orzinuovi (BS – Italy).
The main goal is the long term monitoring of some cracks to verify the stability of the building.
The kit provided includes two sensor nodes wirelessly connected throught Henesis proprietary protocol to a GPRS bridge to upload data on Henesis web portal (http://labs.henesis.eu/wisnp/).
Each node is designed to monitor a single wall creek using two linear potentiometer measuring the horizontal and vertical movements. This system achieves 10 µm resolution.
Additionally each node provides high-precision temperature and humidity measurements, useful to correlate the crack movements with daily thermal cycle.
The graph shows data acquired in the past two week with a 15 minutes sample time.
